My Dear Bessie: A Love Story in Letters
This was an intriguing book, as well as informative and heartwarming. The book is a collection of letters that Chris sent to Bessie, and showed us, not only did love survive the war, but also that love can blossom and survive. The last chapter is from their grandson, and tells the lovely story of their long and happy life together. My only gripe is that the letters are one sided, so it was kinda like listening to one end of a phone call. So it is a great shame that more of Bessie's letters didn't survive.
Overall a lovely little book for anyone to curl up with.
